GOVERNMENT OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

The Antigua and Barbuda Immigration Department is introducing a new service that requires sponsored visitors to visit Antigua and Barbuda for the purpose of a vacation and spending time with family members.

Through the sponsorship program, residents of Antigua and Barbuda may sponsor close family members who are visiting Antigua and Barbuda for the purpose of vacation and who do not meet the criteria of being a Bona fide Visitor in accordance to Section 24 of the Antigua and Barbuda Immigration Act, 2014.

Presently, residents who are sponsoring family members that are visiting on vacation goes to the airport and are interviewed on the day when the passenger arrives.

Effective Monday 05th October 2015, the completion of sponsorship forms and interviews will be done at the Immigration Headquarters on Long & Thames Street, St. John’s Antigua. The sponsors are required to have their passports and the expected arrival date and flight of the visiting relative.

The sponsor will be required to sign a sponsorship agreement that commits the sponsor to provide financial support to their relative and to ensure that the relative departs at the end of the time granted at a port of entry.

The Immigration Department will continue to introduce measures to improve its services to the general public to result in an effective functioning Immigration machinery.
